Advice on life after brachytherapy and radiotherapy

Good morning guys

Just looking for some information for my husband. He is 4 weeks post Brachytherapy and also had 5 weeks radiotherapy. He is doing very well but is having a lot of urgency with having to get to toilet during day and night. He is also very tired. What I/we are asking is that does it get easier as time goes on. He is 53 and has an active job which thankfully he is off of at the moment but he has concerns for when he goes back in a couple of months. We understand he needs time to recover but would appreciate any feedback.

Hi Amanda

Yes it does get better after Brachytherapy the urgency to go to the toilet will improve and tiredness is part of the mending time.I had my Brachytherapy in September 2016 and two years on all is going well with PSA down to 0.39 and six monthly blood tests. It took me about six months to get off the Tamulosin but no need to rush it.I still get up two to three times a night but did before operation The only medication i take know is a blood pressure tablet and have four Viagra tablets on prescription .If you click my Avatar you can see my Journey and if you need any more question answered please ask as i come on line most days.

PS i am 72 years old and retired so no work to worry about and that helps a lot but does give you more time to think.

Regards John.
