Hi Radar, I've been on Sertraline for over a year, no problems.

It has helped me out.

Hi Radar,

I’ve been on Sertraline for over two years now with no problems (Mirtazapine before that but had to stop because of chemotherapy). I still get down and anxious but not to the same extent and can far more easily cope with it than unassisted.

My bipolar , stress and anxiety /panic issues ( exacerbated by cancer ) have eventually been reined in by nightly Zopiclone and Diazepam as required. Not ideal I know , but it seems that if I sleep well then I cope well generally. I tried virtually all anti depressants over the years , but none work with bipolar which helped with my eventual diagnosis.
