Apologies for not joining the family sooner. I am 6 years 2 months along my journey from Robotic radical prostatectomy at Christie, aged 57. They were absolutely fantastic with me. So grateful they caught it early. I know I am one of the lucky ones. My journey has been challenging at times and still can be today. My G.P. was absolutely fantastic and helped me all the way. I have one or two minor issues, passing water regularly if I have a few too many beers. Started the Pelvic Floor Exercises again. Sex : Unable to rise to the occasion for almost 2 years, now restored to working order all be it 75% of its former glory. If I can be of assistance I am happy to help.

Many Thanks Barry, posted my scores. Dark Rainbow, about 2 years for me to get back to fully working order with penetration. Tried everything on offer, vacuum pump ( not for me ) as an exercise maybe, but long winded procedure, to prepare entry. The moment of impulse long gone. Injections were offered, not for me. Tablets 3 on offer: Viagra 4 tablets a month, so expensive. I am taking Cialis 5mg 1 a day, monthly supply. Works for me ( Happy Bunny ) the other tablet I tried but also failed me, sorry cannot recall name/brand. I was off work as a Bus driver for 5 months, went back too soon. Took about 8/9 months before light lifting aches and pains also subsided. My biggest problem was water infection which lasted almost 9 weeks after catheter removed. Hope this Helps.

Darkrainbow, Happy to help. I am not allowed to private message at this time as a new member. I was maybe over cautious with the lifting. Certainly had reminders with tummy aches if I over did it. Maybe after 6 months it eased off. Sex life was quite healthy before and certainly back to normal now. Dry climax, but that's not a problem at all. I find it quite acceptable, a lot less fluids. Just have my latest PSA results which I will post on my Avatar. Final point my scarring is minimal, very happy with that. Also first year of recovery kept out of sun on holiday and always use a high factor sun block now. Holiday insurance is a delicate one, if you declare you are listed for life. I did declare and now pay a premium. They say after 5 years clear you do not have to declare. Not convinced by that.

Hi Stephen and welcome to the forum of reluctant members,

It can be helpful if members can show in their Profile/Bio, their Gleason score, PSA and Staging at diagnosis and any other information relating thereto. If you can also say what your PSA is now and if so how this has increased over time this can be useful when members can see where you are. You could also say what measures you have taken to combat ED other than the Pelvic Exercises. If you click on the Avatar of any member you will find that most have shown their histology.

I wish you well.

Hi

Last year I realized that I was not fully empty my bladder but my sex life was so great Because I live in London and my job involves with night life (wild life) I had No  problems in the bedrooms life at all.Even after I was diognosed with cancer one girl girl said to me (from my local sauna) I cannot believe that your diagnosed with cancer etc.(Sorry not being a big headed)

Stupidly I had to go ahead with the operation on December the 6th .since than my life has been f...up!

Dry orgasm! Pains all over my tummy ,endless trips to the bathroom night times and during the day leaking leaking and more leaking .

Religiously I been doing it pelvic floor exercises (until today)

I stopped doing it because of I feel that I not doing it correctly and hurting my tummy!

You sound like a happy positive guy I'm 55 years old I don't wish to given up of my bedroom life yet  but I will try pump and viagra types of medicines. I'm just waiting for the results of my follow up appointment. (Next month)

How long did you have to suffer from tummy aches?

When did you start lifting things up?

Basically how long it took for you to go back to normal day to day life..apart.sexual life style, incontinence etc.

Thank you

Dark Rainbow

G.P. prescription. Patience was the key for me. Running before you can walk, etc. Thought it would never happen, then all of a sudden rising to the occasion. Very Happy with my situation. Take Care. Feel free to ask for any advice.
