Urine test for aggressiveness of PCa during active surveillance

A friend in his seventies has been on active surveillance for four years, with very regular scans and examinations, but his PSA has been gradually increasing and is up to 11 now.

He is about to have a urine test which is supposed to show the aggressiveness of his cancer. It was in an ’experimental’ trial around three years ago and the results were quite encouraging.

Has anyone here had that test or has any more knowledge of it?

Cheers, John.

A PSA of 11 seems awfully high to still be on AS, John. Has it not been suggested to your friend that some form of intervention would be beneficial?

Regards,

Chris

He has seen five different expensive consultants on two continents, and has annual MRI’s, DRE’s, etc.

He has also been to Offenbach to discuss Nano Knife, so be assured he has had the best treatment money can buy.

He still has cancer, like some of us....

Cheers, John.

I took part in this trial. They said they were looking for a more accurate test than psa.
