He is asking us. He has asked this before but the answer doesn't seem to stick.

No Bose, orchiectomy doesn't last for longer than hormone treatment. It is cheaper than hormones if you have to pay, so is more common in Asian and African countries than it is in the UK. If your dad has orchiectomy it might work for a long time or it might only work for a short time - there is no way of knowing.

This is utter nonsense. A vasectomy has no effect whatsoever on the production of testosterone.

Vasectomy cuts and ties off the vas deferens, the tubes that send sperm from the testes into whatever gland - Cowper’s? Prostate? It’s fifty years since I did O Level biology and my Gray’s Anatomy is buried deep in the junk room, so I can’t remember. The testes continue to produce testerosterone as before.

Zoladex is a hormonal injection designed to cut off the production of testerosterone, rather than cutting off the bollocks altogether - or to use a more medical term, castration, orchidectomy, or in the case of a stallion, gelding.

Cheers, John.

HI Bose

I'm really sorry But until I joined this website I had no idea of Prostate related cancer-issues..I educated my self little bit with help of countless Saint types of people here.

I'm type of a guy who doesn't take care of life seriously...initially my worries were about my pains then those switched to my sex life so that is shows about my interest.

I think the Members on here were ready to help you with advises but I guess without your intention you upseted them.  .

May I ask you to re read the all the comments -responds on here please?

Thank you.God Bless you and Jesus loves you .Jesus died just to save you.

Bose you are asking the same questions again and stating the wrong information again. Your dad does not have spinal cord compression, I think we have already ascertained that you were using the acronym scc incorrectly.

Your dad has stage 4 prostate cancer with bone mets, yes. He is currently on hormone treatment which is keeping his PSA down and controlling his cancer. He has had chemo. He can only have short zaps of radiotherapy to minimise pain or to help stabilise his spinal mets; he cannot have radiotherapy to treat the actual cancer.

When his hormone treatment fails, they will add an extra hormone like abiraterone (presumably if you can afford it) or they may suggest chemo again. Eventually, all the treatments might fail and there will be no more treatment except pain relief.

Hi Bose

I know what you mean...surely your asking for advises because of your dad suffering at the moment.

I wasnt mocking with you please no offence but honestly hands on heart there are really really great people on here whom have excellent knowledge of what your asking, maybe they are suffering with the same issues as your dad or maybe not but they have been going through many or similar problems them self or through their members of family.

Some of them already replied to you but possibly clearly your mind were busy, maybe you were upset etc maybe that's why you didn't understand their questions or maybe you didn't see their comments.

I cannot suggest anything else All I had RP operation and tried to educate my self from here with people Advises whom some of them already tried to help you on this thread as well.

But if you think their comments were not helpful.please may I suggest you to find specialist volunteers nurses(Macmillan's) on this website please send them messages than Wait for their answer .they could answer you definitely. Maybe it will take 2 or 3 days but they will definitely answer you .I already tried my self and greatly they helped me out about my problems.

Good luck mate
