I was diagnosed with PC in 2009  At that time I was 51  My PSA was around 21 and biopsy gleason score was 3+4   I opted for RP and radiotherapy because of my age

My PSA tests since then have all been <0.2 with no health issues as such

Routine PSA test at GPs last week has prompted repeat letter from surfery with no explanation or scoring given.

Im terrified its back and so worried what happens next   Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Sorry you have this repeat test without knowing the PSA figure.

Without knowing the value it’s difficult to comment other than to say we are all here to listen and help if possible.

Did you have adjuvant or salvage radiotherapy?

What was your post op histology?

I'd give the surgery a ring first thing in the morning, or visit in person, to find out the reason for the re-test. You need to know to ease your worry. It's entirely possible that it's a laboratory error - that's happened to me in the past.

All the best,

Chris

The repeat letter could be for a whole number of reasons as I found for myself with my last visit, the phlebotomist forgot to label the vials!

Could possibly be a change of the assay? I was even told some other cells in the body can produce small amounts of PSA.
