Small cell mutation

Hi,

anyone out there had their PC mutate to small cell? My PSA has been stable for 12 months since I finished early chemo, however I was experiencing urine retention, eventually got a scan of prostate which was severely enlarged, second biopsy confirmed small cell, carboplatin chemo lined up for next week, wondering what else is out there for small cell, do abi/enza work?  TIA

Hi Braddalad

I think this came up before in another thread. Not sure if it can mutate. Is it more likely it was another already existing colony?

There is a type of small cell cancer that seems to be caused by androgen deprivation treatment (HT) but other small cell cancers are usually lying in wait alongside the adenocarcinoma, and only become apparent when they continue to develop while the adeno is subdued.

This link will take you to other threads on small cell, including Cookie girl whose dad did amazingly well.
