My dad was diagnosed on 3 April this year with prostate cancer with spread to bones. He was extremely unwell and hospitalised with bleeding ulcer and pneumonia. His psa in April was over 1000. He had radiation to his bone for pain and is off all pain meds. He started on firmagon injections had his third one last week and psa had dropped to 48. He is on his third week of Abiraterone.
With effect from next month he is starting an alternative hormone injection dexapeptryl which will be given every 6 months - is this wise since the firmagon is working
