hi everyone so we found out at Christmas my husband, 43yrs,is BRCA1 positive, mentioned episode of blood in semen which gp at time checked prostate and said all good probably an infection and it will go away - which it did. Fast ward to now and PSA is 1.3 MRI shows lesion at apex of prostate PI - RADS 5, he has TRUS biopsy next Sunday. To say I’m going out of my mind is an understatement mainly because we’ve been here before 6 years ago when I was diagnosed with breast cancer aged 32 and my mum is currently having rads for cervical cancer, how much can one couple take??

It's an anxious time waiting for tests and results.  A psa of 1.3 is very low although psa isn't wholly meaningful.  The MRI may have found something but it might be very small and not doing much.  Especially with the low psa.

The apex is the bottom of the prostate the opposite side from the bladder.   Good luck for the biopsy.
