Good results Arthur. Must have been pretty pleasing to have had an HT holiday - was it 2-3 years.
Great that the restart on HT has brought your psa back down to immeasurable.

I'm certainly gunning for you.

That's great news Arthur, and you certainly have been encouraging.

Pete's PSA is slowly rising, 0.2 in Oct and just found out it's now 0.3 5 months later. He's been off any treatment for 2 yrs. Wondering what point they are likely to scan and re start treatment? Chatting with GP on Tuesday .

All the best, great results x

Peter & Alison,

My Oncologist didn’t start and further treatment until my PSA reached 2.0.  I had a full bone scan, CT scan and MRI which all proved to be negative apart from what she thought were some dead cancer cells.

With my agreement she started me on Decapeptyl hormone therapy which from some early side affects isn’t a problem.

Best wishes,

Arthur

Video call with  Oncologist today, PSA now 0.01.  She suggested 2 options - one to stay on Decapeptyl  injections every 3 months or take a break and have usual set of blood tests in 4 months time.

She said long term the injections could affect the heart and bones so recommended taking a break.  If there was a significant rise in PSA have a scan but she said previous scans couldn’t find any trace of cancer but were concerned at the doubling rate of my PSA at that time.   If anything was found they could restart the injections or possibly offer RT.

So I’m taking the break from the injections and having follow up blood tests and appointment in 4 months time.
