Buttocks Pain after Radical Prostatectomy

Hi All ,

Has anyone suffered with buttocks pain and also sensitive uncomfortable penis after radical prostatectomy removal ?

My procedure took over 5 hours due to my enlarged prostrate combined with my low level prostate cancer , 5 weeks after surgery I have , as expected , total erectile dysfunction however my incontinence is improving week by week , I am in my early fifties and would describe myself as very fit , I am not overweight or have any other major health issues , I had a water infection about a week after catheter removal which has been treated with antibiotics , I also notice small amounts of blood in my urine which comes and goes. I am due for my follow up next week but would be really interested if anyone has had similar issues and could advise . Many Thanks

HI JoeLucky, my experience is sounding just like yours. I'm Week 5 after RP, had/have a UTI treated with antibiotics. I still find sitting a real challenge, have a cushion with a hole which does help. Periodic pain in tip of penis and in scrotal sac can be really challenging. I feel things are improving, just would like it to be a bit quicker...

I hope your surgeon is able to give you some reassurance.

Best wishes

Hi Joe

Your symptoms sound just like mine. My removal was 17 May. I am completely continent and as for erectile dysfunction, we’ll forget it for at least 6 months. My Consultant at Eastbourne put me on 25 mg Sildenafil daily to help with the blood flow to the area. Random pain in the buttocks and penis is the norm as is blood and bits in the urine. I didn’t have any infections but had my bladder washed out twice to stop blockages. Scars healed very well. You sound okay to me, I am 73 so you are much younger. You just have to get used to taking it easy for a while. My first blood test result was 0.03, all cancer cells removed during the op, next blood test and appointment in December.

All the best for your recovery

Regards

Peter

Joe

All sounds pretty normal but if it helps get yourself checked out.

Thanks Chris

Cialis will give you butt pain too, in fact it makes everything stiff when I take! Including the bits it's supposed to!
