Side effects hormone treatment

Can anyone advise me when I can expect to see the side effects of hormone treatment wearing off, especially relating to increase in libido. I was on Goserelin for 2 years.

Libido in relation to desire or the ability to get it up?

Anecdotal evidence from this site suggests the former can range from unaffected even during treatment to never coming back...

Re erections probably more related to the treatment you have had and may require medical intervention to help restore some function.

Suggest you update your profile with treatment history so folks can provide more informed feedback.

I believe a norm is for full recovery to take as long as you were on HT for. So if you were on it 2 yrs it may take 2 yrs to recover in most ways.

As said above , even if your desire for sex returns , if you haven’t maintained penile health with a pump etc you will have suffered a lot of atrophy and may not have much left to use anyway size-wise.

Thanks for replying Chris.

I had radiotherapy in Jan. 2018

I was on Goserelin for 2 years together with Aberaterone - and treatment stopped in July ( in fact that's when I would have been due the next depot injection ).

I have been keeping things going with a pump regularly - and use Sildenafil and sometimes Vitaros when my wife and I have sex. I'm lucky in that I get an erection - but the desire and sex drive is just not there.

I know from what I have been told it will take months to return but I wondered what others had experienced with regard to length of time.

From a few people I know who've had their testosterone monitored, sometimes it takes quite a while before testosterone starts to recover (e.g. up to 15 months from last injecton), so you are in effect on HT for a year longer. Another person was just 3 months, so a lot of variability. This is to just the start of testosterone appearing - it takes longer still to get back to normal levels.
