Cycling with an artificial urinary sphincter.

After having my prostate removed because of cancer I am about to get a artificial urinary sphincter fitted, i am very pleased as living with pads can have its ups and downs.  I am a very keen cyclist and  consultant has told me that with the correct saddle i will be ok cycling.

Has anyone got any ides of a brand or make of cycle seat  which will ensure there isn't any pressure applied to my new plumbing  such as a noseless seat with the necessary gap to ensure my uretha is free from pressure.

Any help or signposting would be appreciated

Charlie

Looks like your post got lost for a while.  I am sure someone will have a suggestion. Have you read Tony's diary of an AUS ?

Thanks Chris

I don't have an AUS, but we were told not to cycle during RT due to exacerbating inflamation, and I bought this so I could continue cycling. I've continued using it months after treatment, although probably not necessary for a while, but not sufficiently uncomfortable (once you've got used to it and got it positioned well, which takes a few rides) for me to be bothered to put the original saddle back on.

I believe you can have the AUS above or below the pelvic floor muscle, subject to sufficient space. Might be worth asking the urologist which might be best given you are a cyclist.
