Hi,

Firstly may I offer all readers and their families on this great resource site a happy and healthy New year.

Looking for affordable travel health cover which includes APC.Have been quoted silly prices so far ! My existing insurer LV will not cover APC.Am age 75 and hoping to go to Dublin for a short break for our 50th wedding anniversary God willing.The European Health card provides some emergency back up  until Britexit proper hits us ,but dont get me started on that!

Norman personally I wouldn't bother with any insurance for a weekend in Dublin.

Just go and enjoy the craic.

The MacMillan website includes a list of companies who specialise in covering people with life limiting conditions. We have always used InsureWith, who we find competitive and helpful/ With APC, the important thing is always to talk to a real perason on a phone so that you can explain context - the algorithms on their websites are inflexible.

Is there any significant chance that you'll need medical treatment related to your cancer while you're away? If not, you can get "normal" cover with cancer treatment excluded. Virtually all insurers will do this.

Try a company called Insurewith.com. We found this site last year. No phone calls just a medical declaration needed.Very reasonable.
