Cancer check ups

I was diagnosed with testicular cancer 2 years ago and had chemo and surgery. I have regular reviews which include bloods and x-rays, I am wondering if my blood test would screen for PSA?

I would assume not.
Ask for PSA to be added. You will almost certainly have to ask your doctor, not just the practice nurse who takes the sample, because the doctor is supposed to try and talk you out of it first, but if you're 50 or over, you can insist.

I would also ask for copies of your blood test results (in which case you would know). I keep all mine in an excel spreadsheet, and it's very useful when seeing clinicians.

Hi Billf50, no, you'll only be screened for testicular cancer e.g. AFP.

As there is no proven link between the two cancers your prostate cancer concerns will be considered separately  - I had a break of 25 years! If I had those 25 years again, I'd probably would have reduced my intake of dairy.
