Starting hormone therapy

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to check in, as this week I have started a course of hormone therapy, with 28 days of bicalutamide and 6 monthly injections (to start in a couple of weeks). I'll then have a course of radiotherapy starting at some point in June or July.

I had surgery in early December, and the histology report showed that although the prostate margins were clear there cancer cells in one lymph node. (The definition was T3b N1.)

My PSA is still at a detectable level, and has risen slightly over the last month and is now 0.29 (before starting hormone therapy).

Otherwise, I'm feeling fine :)

Here's wishing you all the best.
I would say, don't worry if the coronavirus stuff pushes your RT out another 3 months, providing your PSA is still going down. In the case of primary RT treatment, getting the PSA as low as possible before starting RT improves outcomes. Not sure about it as a salvage therapy, but it may be similar.
