Hi,

HI all, I`m a newbie. I was diagnosed just over 3 weeks ago. After consultation (over phone because of coronavirus) I have decided on HT & started on tablets yesterday. I have read that on HT you are likely to lose muscle mass & bone density. I can`t play golf, again because of virus so can`t get much exercise. I thought about getting a second hand Bullworker from Ebay. I wondered if anyone had any experience of use to help or is there something better ?

I Started hormone therapy April 2018 and I finished October 2019. Throughout all of my treatment and including radiotherapy I swam and cycled regularly. I have noticed loss of endurance and I get tired quicker but on the whole any sort of exercise that you can do is going to delay any problems with your muscles.

After 18 months I have not noticed any loss of muscle density and I can’t comment on the bone density matter. If my cancer returns and I have to go back on hormone therapy and I would worry more about muscle wastage and bone thinning

After 6 months of hormone therapy, I definitely lost upper-body strength and muscle. I bought some 2kg dumbells and a 6kg kettle bell, and I now do a 15 minute workout (including stretches to help my back) every morning. This has built up much better muscle tone, and increased my upper-body strength.

regards,

Hermit

Thanks for replies. I have decided to use resistance bands after lots of time looking. They look as if they do most of body, which i need anyway !!
