Great news Jen, long may it continue.

I have my PSA test on 14th. Last one was 0.97 so hoping it hasn’t gone any higher. I’m 2 years now since RT finished and 11 months since last HT injection.

That is really great news Jen , long may it continue. Did they tell you the PSA may go up after the HT finished ? They told me mine would go back to around 2 so 0.2 is fantastic result.
My PSA has now gone back up to 2.75 in a similar timeframe for RT. Hormones finished just over a year ago.

Hi Phil - yes they said it could go up after RT but they said everybody is different. The Consultant said when it bounced up he was within the "bounce timeframe" - 18ths-2 years however it turned out he had a mild UTI which caused the bounce to 1 and it came down again to 0.4 and then 0.2

Its amazing how worrying it is when it goes up even slightly and the wait for the next result is excruciating. I am wishing you all the best with your next result Phil.

Good news, and a lesson for all of us that these figures can bounce around a bit and it does not mean the end of the world.

Results in today almost 3 years (2 years 10 months) post radiotherapy and we are sitting at 0.2 again (thankfully!).
They asked for a kidney function test this time (maybe protocol) which was completely normal. Hospital gave us a little telling off for calling saying we should have waited until our appointment next week however we have always rung 4 days before hand so we can be prepared with questions etc. I get where they are coming from trying to get back to everyone about their results would just add to their huge workload and results don't go to the surgery because if we asked a question they would only refer us to the hospital to answer.

It's been a rollercoaster but I thought I would share some good news (T3a Gleason 3+4 psa 16) Hormones and Radiotherapy.
A little glass or 2 of wine may be needed as the nerves are shredded. After all this time there is still that psa result anxiety.

Have a great weekend everyone

"After all this time there is still that psa result anxiety" - from end of HT Aug 2008 to the present day with PSA ups and downs anxiety is still there. On the positive thats good, for me anyways, as its a push to go get that test.

Good luck

Jen .

That looks like good news, long may it continue.

I had an arrangement with my onco nurse, I sent her a text to say blood test was done , she would text me back a couple of days before our appointment with the result. Like you I want to get my head around the result before the meeting, which in my case are always up.

Seven years on I am past the PSA anxiety, I can't control it so I don't worry about it.

Hope all goes well for the future.

Thanks Chris

Really great news on your husbands PSA result. We’re just starting the journey, but I can imagine how much anxiety the wait for the result can cause x
