Supply of Invicorp in UK

Hi there - having to deal with quite a lot of pain using Viridal Duo (Caverject) injections so thought I would try purchasing Invicorp privately, which has been previously referenced on the Prostate Cancer UK community. My ED specialist has also mentioned it, although had no way of prescribing through NHS.

I placed an order via Pharmacy2u, which they have now cancelled as unable to obtain the drug. Anyone have any other alernative suppliers that currently have stock?

Many thanks

Viridal and Caverject are different products - Viridal seems much less efficient & with more side effects; Caverject is in short supply in the UK and has been for a while.

We got 3 months' worth of Invicorp at Sainsbury's today, on the NHS ... why can't your ED specialist or GP prescribe it?

So is Invicorp now generally available on the NHS?

If so is it now NICE approved?

Just looking for some ammunition to push for some please

Well it was first prescribed by the ED nurse for our NHS trust, and the GP issues repeat prescriptions without any quibbling so I would say yes to the question of NHS availability - the NICE summary is here https://bnf.nice.org.uk/drug/aviptadil-with-phentolamine-mesilate.html

A quick Google search indicates that it is approved by Mid Yorks, W Yorks, Lancashire, Herts, Bedfordshire. It is also available on the NHS in Wales & Scotland. There are small differences in whether the GP can prescribe or whether the first prescription has to be from the hospital / ED service.

The British society for sexual medicine published this in 2017; p18 mentions the benefits of Invicorp over others, including less pain.

Thanks Lyn that's all good to help support my argument at next review.
