Wow, onco is proper bored of you.. a year.. that is amazing! Dad's next PSA is in 6 months again.

Im glad all is well your end. Winter sun is out. Clocks change soon, so lighter evenings. Summer sun will be here soon. Please no more COVID restrictions!

No just a war instead....

I think the Covid restrictions, were preferable 😅

Terrible what is happening in the world. Not to mention cost of living rise. My energy bill is giving me panic attacks! Heard COVID cases are on the up.. argh!

Hope you are well Bob.

Still no news from the hospital re dads biopsy results. 4 weeks on Monday since the endoscopy.

Hello! Update.. still no news so i checked patient access. Letter uploaded from endoscopy department which says "indefinite for dysplasia" again but this time in 2 biopsies. So its going to MDT for management plan then a discussion with dad. At least its not cancer. My own feeling is he drinks way too much lemon juice which is acid and not good for GERD. We yet are to hear from them though.

I found out about dads prostate cancer from his patient access record the morning of when they told us. Terrible that they upload documents before breaking news to patients...

Hello! So finally we had a call from the endoscopy department. They sent the biopsies for a 2nd opinion to one of the London Trust. They said it looks all clear and have put dad back on 2 years endoscopies for Barrett's Oesophagus. Good news!

Hot flushes are really less now too. He only gets them at night but doesn't seem to bother him as much. A lot of the side effects from the treatment seem to be getting less intense.

Hope everyone is well. The sun is due soon, im sure!

It does sound, like your Dad is well on the road back to "Normality" Whatever that is 😆

Exactly Bob.. whatever "normal" is! Hopefully he stays OK for now. How are you keeping? Any lingering side effects?

Thankfully, not too bad - just so glad I got the majority of my treatment done, before Covid struck us.

Now we have the loons, behind the new Iron curtain - who want more land. It makes you sick!

Yes it's lovely here in the west of England - we went to a Car boot fair today - bought an old laptop, a table to put it on, some memory sticks, a few other odds & bits, & still had change out of £10...!

Wow what a bargain! Apparently today was the last of the warm days for a while. Time for winter clothes again!!

Hi - just to let you know, I had my latest blood test today, psa was 0.33, last time it was 0.25, so I doubt if that will give much concern.

Hello Bob,.

Good to hear from you! Excellent PSA! That is not going to raise any concern from anyone. Bound to go up as testosterone increases ( i believe). Really pleased!

Are you on 6 monthly checks?

How are you otherwise?

Dad is fine for now. Hasnt complained about anything, including hot flushes! Lets see how long that lasts!

Thanks for your reply - not too bad in most ways, though Hay fever, has been a pest as ever. Trying anti-hystos at the moment. Glad your old Dad is not too bad. Thankfully, we should now be able to afford the heating next winter !

I think i am suffering with hay fever this year too, don't usually get it at all. Cost of living crisis is a nightmare! Can't afford most things anymore, literally everything has increased.

Spoke to soon, dad mentioned hot flushes today! He said he gets a lot of them only at night. He doesn't understand why they only come at night, none during the day.. he said it only annoys him as it wakes him up

In your previous post when you said he hadn't complained lately, I was thinking of asking if you'd checked if he was still alive.

Lool Dave! This literally made me laugh out loud! Honestly, was a miracle that he didn't moan for a few months! Now he is saying his foot hurts.. nice to see he is back to his usual self!

Is your PSA due soon? Looked at your profile, last one was December, right?

I think the stuff that annoy's both me & my friend: Sheila, is Oil seed rape - horrible stuff. A lot of it grown in my area (Anglia) I expect the hot flushes will pass with time, & as he gets the HT out of his system.

There was a lot of pollen flying around today. Yeh, im sure hot flushes will lessen in time. They already are 85% better, id say!

This came from my Oncology today:

"Thank you for having your recent blood test on 25th May 2022. I am writing to inform you that
your PSA is 0.33. There are no concerns at this stage.

You will receive another blood request form in the post; please have this taken in 6 months' time
and ensure the result is available by 12th December 2022 when I will write to you with the
results.

Please contact me on"

It seems slow creep up, is no problem - I suppose it will level off at some point.
