2nd chemo

My partner finished his 6 month course of chemotherapy in March and then finished his radiotherapy a couple of months ago.  His PSA was 45 before the chemo and 45 after the chemo.  His latest PSA has gone up to 182.  His oncologist rang today to say his latest PSA has gone up to 182 and wants him to have more chemo.  He feels fine and is still active. Previous scans haven't anything apart from a hotspot in a rib.  Any feedback would be appreciated.

I might be wrong but am assuming that the onco wants to try a different chemo called cabazitaxel? It seems a bit odd to try the same chemo again as it doesn't look like it was very successful first time round - was it docetaxel?

If he tolerated the chemo well the first time the chances are that he will tolerate it well this time. Has the onco said anything about possibly adding another hormone as well?

Also, I see from your previous posts that in 2014 he reacted badly to the hormone injections and was swapped to bicalutimide tablets. Has he been put back on to injections since then?

yes will be using different chemo and yes has been on Zoladex for years now.  They have just done bloods for testosterone levels so thinking they may add another hormone.
