Not a bad result

I was on a few weeks ago when I was still being tested for prostate cancer and thought it was possible and was worried in case it had spread , despite having a PSA Level pf 10.5 and no symptoms . I had my follow up appointment this week and prostate cancer was confirmed but only in one half of the prostate and not even half of that. The Gleeson score was also favourable with a 3:4 . That put me into intermediate risk but the consultant added  I was very close to being low risk . I get a phone call on Monday regarding treatment and am opting for the radiotherapy .

This forum is a wonderful thing , it helped me immensely in the early days when being diagnosed and I suppose I am one of the luckier ones.

It was only on March 18th when my GP phoned because the PSA was a bit high and he called me into the surgery and he examined the prostate judging it large and hard . It was April the 20th when I had my follow up appointment . So in just over a month , investigations, testing and results . God bless the NHS .

Pretty good result. I went down the HT/RT route, so happy to answer any questions you might have about it.

Best wishes,

Chris

Hi I took the Brachytherpy route in 2016 at 70 and i think i have had a good run with no major problems. Psa 2.19 and Gleason 3+4=7 with the choice of robotic removal or Brachytherpy.

I was signed off by my specialist in January 2021 with PSA 0.08.If you need any more help please ask.

Good luck John.
