HIFU anaesthetic options

Has everyone been offered HIFU for localised prostate cancer under a spinal and or epidural rather than a general anaesthetic in the U.K. ?

Very few people on this forum have had HIFU and I can't recall anybody having the procedure other than by GA. I would suggest you ask UCLH who have the most experience of this treatment whether it is possible to have it with an epidural spinal block or whatever. I wonder whether they might do HIFU under deep sedation as they are now using it for template biopsy now. However, even for this I had to pass pre op tests and this might be a problem for you. But worth asking.
