Purely for information, the volume of my semen had reduced about 10 years before I was diagnosed at age 63 with prostate cancer. Whether there is any connection I do not know.

Major marker for me at 46. Really reduced semen volume and never heard of occasional ED

MRI scan done on Monday (yes, Easter Monday!), now waiting for the results.

As for music during the scan, they gave me a list to choose a CD! I went for 'Pulse' by Pink Floyd, but they couldn't find the CD, so ended up with Mozart.

Couldn't hear it though, ear plugs, low volume in the headset and the racket the scanner made stopped any chance of that!

Phone call today with MRI results.

Suspicious area in left of prostate, PIRADS 4.

Transperenial biopsy to be done in the next 7-10 days, waiting for the appointment.

Bit of a bombshell, I had convinced myself it was prostatitis and/or enlarged prostate.

Getting radiology report in the next day or so.

Biopsy set for Friday 6th May.

Also got appointments for biopsy results, and if required follow-up with consultant.

Trying to be positive I have written the consultant appointment in pencil!

The Royal Berks like to stack the appointments like that, should they be needed. Helps speed the process, though it can make it feel like a whirlwind.

Thinking of you next week.

Biopsy (transperineal) done under local last Friday. 12 cores taken, 7 left, 5 right. The worst bit was the local anaesthetic injections, the actual sample taking was painless!

No blood in urine, peeing OK, just a bit tired still.

Results next Tuesday.

Hi,my psa went from 2.2/2.6/3.2 and my peeing sounded like yours but my gp sent me to urology. This all started in Jan 2022, first a cystoscopy to check bladder and prostate size, then a mri and then biopsy. Your gp should refer you and you must tell them you want a referral. The gp is not the specialist the urology people are and your psa is way too high. I had aggressive prostate cancer and had it removed in late March,my advise is to see the people that deal with this all the time and take their advise not the gp! Good luck Regards Gary

Errr, I am under Urology, I have had a referral, MRI, and biopsy - all under a urologist (referral was started by GP).

Biopsy results also under Urology.

Just got a phone call with biopsy results - no cancer found!

Possibility that they might consider a template biopsy once the MDT have met, but otherwise back to 6 monthly PSA checks.

Mick, that is very good to hear. What a relief and weight of your mind.
