After surgery i started using 5 g tadalafil and pump to help with ED issues. however the cancer was not completely removed and i am going to start Radiotherapy. My question is do i continue with both the tablet and vacuum pump during the radiotherapy sessions.

John continued taking the daily cialis/ tadalafil during RT and I don't think there is any physiological reason not to use the pump if you have the energy.

Hi choudhry.

I hope you don’t mind me asking but any advice would be welcome, how long after surgery did you start using tadalafil and the pump, and we’re they given on prescription or do you have to pay for them privately. I am four weeks post robotic surgery  in which they removed the right side nerve bundle and left and right side lymph nodes along with the prostate. I will be seeing the consultant for the results of the surgery on the 25th August I will hopefully be able to discuss this with at the time. Since surgery I have not had any stirrings down below. I know it’s only been a short time since my op but I feel I should be doing something about this sooner rather than later

Tadalafil, immediately after surgery, and some surgeons now start even a few days before surgery.

The pump, ask your consultant, but 8 weeks after catheter out is quite common.

They are both available on the NHS in principle, but some areas won't pay for one and/or the other. If you buy the pump yourself, ask the retailer for a VAT exemption form first, as you are buying it as a medical appliance (zero rated), not a sex toy (20% VAT).

Hi Andy62

Thanks for the information. I have not been given anything either before or after the op. I’m hoping the appointment I have on the 25th when I speak to the surgeon will correct this.
