Frequency of follow up PSA bloods after RP?

Hi,

Doing well after RP on 01/03/21.

12 week post surgery PSA - 0.014

Just had another test and stable at 0.012.

How often do people have theirs tested following RP. I obviously don't want to leave it too long between tests , but on the other hand don't want the worry of "what if" every 3 months ?

What would be a safe and a stress-free interval going forward?

I think NICE guidance is at least one every six months for the first two years. Your PSA is low and stable. Personally I don't like having appointments in winter or in the holiday season. So for me six monthly appointments in March and September work fine.

My surgeon just wanted an ultra sensitive PSA every 12 months. That's fine with me.

Ours was every 3 months for the first year, which I think is wise. After the first year it went to every 6 months.
