Treatment options apalutamide

Hi folks

I have recently been diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer, 5 years after radiotherapy on my prostate (big surprise)! I have started hormone therapy (Zoladex) and my oncologist is suggesting that I have apalutamide treatment at the same time. The potential side effects of the latter seem disturbing - does anyone have any experience of this?

Hi there, how are you doing? Really hope the treatment is going well for you. My dad's just about to start apalutamide, having already started the zoladex. From what I've seen, the evidence looks really good about taking them together but would be interested to hear how you're finding the side effects. Wishing you all the best

Hello,

My husband has been taking Apalutamide since November 2021.

He is also having his 3 monthly Zoladex.

His PSA was rising so Apalutamide was prescribed. It's kept his PSA undetectable which is great.

Side effects are mainly tiredness, he exercises regularly and that helps a lot with the tiredness.
