Enzalutamide 80mg dose

I started Enzalutamide today, two tablets being 80mg/day. The junior Oncology doctor said the normal 160mg dose was for fit active people - which I’m not. They would not offer abiraterone as an option, despite having talked about it earlier in the year.

My nice Consultant just retired.
The risk of constipation with Enzalutamide looked higher than with abiraterone. My tumour has grown back and is affecting sciatic plexus nerves and pudendal nerve - which controls bladder and bowel.

is this 80mg dose a thing? I can’t see anything about it, except for a drug interaction. Any clinical trials?

She said it’s very difficult to raise the dose, and very difficult to switch to Abi.

Give the PCUK specialist nurses a call tomorrow Michael on 0800 074 8383 - they are extremely knowledgeable and will hopefully be able to reassure you
