Hi,

I had my prostate removed January 2020 and its been going great,in fact my incontinence is I would say 98%.

Just when I thought I could look forward to getting out etc Ive just been diagnosed with rectal cancer.

I dont sleep much at night because of the pain and to cap it all my incontinence has returned worse than its ever been. Ive also got a hernia that needs sorting as well? I know there are people worse off than me and I try to be positive but I have to admit its getting on top of me now? Ive been on Sertraline for the last three years and it helps but all this stuff together has knocked me sideways, its not been good for my wife who retired just befor I had the prostate op.

Hi Terry, what a horrible time you are having. Which area of the country are you in? Find out whether there is a Maggie's centre within travelling distance - most are open door centres where you can just drop in but they may also offer regular appointments for support. Maggie's centres are known for their peacefulness and knowledge of living with cancer and other serious conditions.

If not Maggie's, you may have a hospice or Macmillan team nearby who offer similar support
