My husband has just been prescribed Enzalutimide after his PSA started rising again as the tumour is raising its head again and cancer has now been detected in lymph nodes in his neck. He’s still waiting for the hospital to put up the prescription and has been told to stop taking the Bicalutamide. He was told his sweats would probably increase and they will keep a regular eye on him for 8 weeks testing, kidney liver and BP. After that apparently any side effects should decrease. In all respects he looks fine, no one would know of his cancer apart from lack of energy and very frequent sleeping when he sits down. Must confess to having a little niggle/concern re Chris J’s comment about it buying approx 6 months extra time. Does that infer that he’s going to go downhill rapidly now?? He’s quite active - even weeding the garden but does sit down to do it. He was desperate to go to Australia to visit our only daughter whom - because of covid - we haven’t seen for 3 years so we booked the flight for end September in the hope that any side effects of the Enzal should have subsided by then. I hope we’ve done the right thing for his sake. Any advice, hints, tips etc would be much appreciated. For info - he was diagnosed in 2018 T3b N1M1 score 4+3 =7 with nodal and bone metastases on MRI.
