What comes next

Hi

Hubby has just finished his 6th chemo cycle, docetaxel.  He's done really well on it, with very few side effects. (view profile for diagnosis etc),  They said he could have chemo up front as he was fit and healthy in every other way bar the cancer.

He has been on Firmagon since diagnosis in Nov 21.  PSA 597 dropping to 7.95 a couple of months later then down to 1.41 after 3 rounds of chemo.  This is the only treatment he has had so far.

We have blood tests on the 7th and scan on 8th, so we will know more then.  We then speak to "our team" on the 13th to discuss what comes next.

We live in France, treatment really good, however they are short on telling you everything, and their bedside manner is not the best.

Can I ask all you lovely people from your own experiences what you think will come next?  I need to be asking questions but not sure what to ask.  Any help/input from anyone will be really appreciated.

Thanks

Ginny

Ask about RT, this has been proven to be beneficial in some metastatic cases.
Also ask about up front Enzo or one of the other 2nd gen Hormone therapies.
Maybe Lieutium (can't spell!) Trial too?

Hi,

Usually the chemo.will keep the PSA down for 3-12 months and no other treatment may be necessary until it starts to rise. Radiotherapy may also be used on the bone Mets depending how many there are.

Normally then a second line treatment such as Enzulutamide is given which could keep him well for months or years depending on his luck.

There are then other treatment options and trials .

Keep Strong

Norm
