PSA Increase after first line chemo and firmagon

Hi


Hubbys initial psa on diagnosis was 598.  Bone and lymph mets


Went down to 12.3 after first few doses of Firmagon


Went down to 7.95 before start of chemo, docetaxel


After 3 cycles chemo down to 1.41


After 6 cycles today it is back to 8.06


Is it the chemo that has failed or the firmagon, can anybody give any light on this.  We have just got results and are now in pieces.  We have a scan tomorrow, but the time between now and tomorrow feels like an eternity.


How worried should we be

PSA can jump around a bit while you are on chemo - it doesn't mean anything has failed.

Hi Lyn


psa test today, almost 4 weeks since last one and it’s gone up again to 20.41 from 8.06. Should we be worried.  Seeing oncologist tomorrow, so will let her know
