Bit quiet in here

Looks like no one has posted here in ages. Considering the recent campaign it would be good to revive the group

Yes the groups for specific types of men have not really took off.

Most people just set the computer to show recent posts from any group. So it doesn't make much difference where you post. For nearly all men what your race is or your gender doesn't make a difference to how you will be treated. Though it does make a difference to how likely you are in life to need prostatecancer UK.

Perhaps the only exception being post op transsexuals who may face some different issues.

Hi Omo bami oke,

I think my husband would be interested in connecting with you - he has just been diagnosed with prostate cancer - his name is Funsho.

If of interest, please do send me a message.
Take care

Hi All,

I recently had surgery and recovering.  Happy to discuss my journey and help if necessary.  Hope all is well with everyone.  Thanks

Hi Chris,

hope your recovering well. Make sure you take your time. It may not feel like it with robotics but surgery is a major op.

 All the best

You are absolutely right. It's been just over 3 months and can still feel some of the effects and do get tired sometimes.

As has been suggested, like most, I receive everything but don't post so often these days. Posting under groups is pretty rare and what I have seen posted on this very broad minded forum could come from any person, white or of colour. any sexuality, directly affected by PCa or on behalf of a relative or friend. It is a place where all are treated the same. Indeed, if anybody stated they only wished to receive replies from somebody within the same group we would comply. However, in doing this the individual would be losing help from most of the regular posters. Although in general many feel it is best to post where all can see and sometimes put a different opinion, rather than widely use personal messages, it does seem to me that this method might work rather better for members of specialist groups to communicate in a more secluded way between themselves on certain aspects they don't wish members outside their groups sharing.

Absolutely! This disease/condition is no respecter of colour or race, and being black myself I have not seen any difference in the way I was treated by the NHS. I think the only time race comes into this is that black males over a certain age are more susceptible to the disease than other groups. I agree, there should be no filter in what we view on the forum as you might end up missing an important bit of advice.
