Treatment following surgery

After having surgery to remove my prostate (Gleason 9, tumour 3b) I suffered incontinence for 3 years but with undetectable psa. Now the cancer has returned (psa 0.12). The oncology doctor has recommend hormone treatment and radiotherapy.

I had also been put on the waiting list for a male sling to cure the incontinence. Does anyone have experience of both treatments one after the other given the possible side effects.?

we have had very few members who have reported on having the male sling so hope one of them sees and responds to your post.

Hi Tim,

Just saw this and thought I'd bump it up so hopefully someone else will add a comment.

I guess you'll having your SRT before the sling can be fitted, in which case, (just a thought) how will you be able to hold a full bladder for each treatment session?

Good luck.

Kev.

Hi Kev

Good point. Hadn't thought of that!

Fortunately each radiotherapy session doesn't last very long so I may be OK
