Loss of orgasm

Hi. I had a robot-assisted radical prostatectomy in February 21 with unilateral nerve spare. My continence is good and I can have an erection of sorts with the aid of Cialis and Invercorp injections. Unfortunately, I am unable to achieve an orgasm, which then seems to have a knock-on effect on my libido. I know that some have very good, even multiple orgasms after surgery, but has anyone suffered from anorgasmia, and has it persisted? Is there anything that I can do that might help?

Had exactly that problem when I first started "back in the saddle" in fact on occasions it still happens.

I believe it's all about confidence and "letting go" basically all the things cancer and ED kick out of you. I was in a new relationship too which both helped and hindered in equal measure.

This forum provided the answer for me, advice was to get slightly p****d and just enjoy, advice I follow to this day with great success!

I had that too, sometimes I'm not entirely sure I've had an orgasm, and when I do, it's seldom much to write home about. The lack of that pre-op pump action ejaculation doesn't help. I have a mental battle in my head sometimes.. Will my erection go the distance? Will I leak?

I'm slightly envious of some guys on here that have fantastic orgasms, but we're all different. I think a lot of it's down to anxiety, and as mentioned above, trying to relax definitely helps.

I was still fine post op and then erection recovered for a good long time. Not as good as before orgasm-wise but still a life necessity. Now I find myself 18 months into HT and yet I still have a libido and can still get an erection but orgasm mostly eludes me. Go figure ….. ??

Re quality of ibido / erection / orgasm / leaking / lack of "pump action".

Libido is unchanged

Erection definitely only 80%, strongest during arousal phase, needs cock ring for longevity. After 7years I can definitely say erection quality is NOT related to orgasm quality. With the ring on my stamina is porn star quality and I think that is a benefit for me and my missus!

Orgasm, sometimes it's elusive, often with perseverance the elusive ones are the best. I rarely fail these days but I have learnt not to attempt sex if I have any "doubts". These "doubts" are always about my ability to impress my partner and used to be "performance related" but as that problem has got better the rare occasion it happens now it's more likely because I doubt she is really "up for it" so as she always assures me I wouldn't be getting it if she wasn't! It must all be self doubt!

Leaking and lack of ejaculates just fed the lack of confidence. I don't leak anymore, sometimes I wish I still did as with my eyes closed it was impossible to tell the difference!!

I had a prostatectomy 15 years ago now and over a few years gradually recovered full sexual function (minus ejaculation!) with frequent (but not always essential) use of Levitra/vardenafil.

After splitting from my long-term partner last year (she who helped me through all that, sadly) I recently started a new relationship and discovered over the last few months that orgasm has become more and more elusive, I seem to always need the Levitra to get hard, and my penile length is down by an inch.

So, I'm looking at anything/everything to make a new start... one thing that caught my attention was this low intensity shockwave treatment (LiSWT) which I first came across many years ago as Viberect, now seems to be 3 times the price and called Ferticare (in the USA anyhow) - claims to improve 'physiological sexual response by utilising your own pathways of erection and ejaculation'. Also I've gone back to using my SomaErect pump to see if I can regain a bit of length. And I wonder if there may be something better than Vardenafil without going into injections etc.

Anyone here have any useful advice or experience? I've booked a chat with PCUK sexual support too. A given that the mind is the most important sexual organ but....

In reply to TopOfTheHill:

Basically I agree with francij1 above... although I was not anorgasmic it took me 3-5 years to reacquire confidence and capacity, step by step, from being incapable of even simple penetration to full recovery with satisfaction for both parties. The patience, love and active enthusiasm of my then partner for any form of intercourse no matter how 'unsuccessful' made a world of difference. Worth remembering that in tantric sex the male orgasm is always best delayed!

That said, all the evidence is that if you literally regard your recovery as a matter of making yourself 'do exercises' both mental and physical and remain active, things will improve... and as part of that I suggest you might look around for aids to support recovery of whatever nerves are involved: earlier today I was checking out the availability of the Viberect (seems no longer available but other versions are) and came across this user feedback on Amazon which might be of help to you... quite a few purchasers said it had revived their orgasms...
