I got the following MRI result and have a phone consultation on Tuesday…

MRI Prostate with contrast

Clinical indication : Elevated PSA

Problem List Items Addressed This Visit
None

3T study.

T1-weighted post-biopsy change: Nil

Prostate size: 22ml

T2-weighted and Diffusion-weighted imaging findings: Images degraded by
motion artefact. There is the impression of a 16mm x 12mm lesion in the
left base (4/12, 550/12). No other convincing target seen.

DCE-MRI findings: No convincing early enhancement.

Extra-capsular extension: No

Seminal vesicle invasion: No

Bone lesions: No

Lymph nodes: None

Conclusion: Difficult study due to motion artefact. Probable left base PZ
lesion (7p) - M4 probability.

I may have to have a biopsy the following day, depending on the result of the conversation.

Anything I should be asking during the consult?

Thanks

Concerning that there seems to have been movement in your Prostate so imaging is not as good as it might have been. You could ask whether they are confident that the scan has shown sufficiently well where the biopsy needles will be placed if a biopsy is to be done. A transperineal biopsy has a lower risk of infection if this is done rather than where the Prostate is sampled through the rectum so ask if you can have the former if having a biopsy.
