I wouldn't worry too much, by your age most men have prostate cancer, but most men are not dieing from it. So hopefully you can just keep an eye on it. It might need treatment but let's wait for the test results before going down that route.

I think you are jumping to conclusions. Bit early for that IMHO. The bloods result, whilst useful to know, is only a small part of the picture.

Post again tomorrow when you have the PSA result. Either it will be "acceptable" or you will be getting a trip in a MRI GTi :-)

Getting your bloods back so quickly is really good. But you are at the start of your journey so wait and see.

Thank you guys ....that actually helps ....

My father in law died at 88 from pnuemonia

With prostate cancer for 18 years ....he had a PSA count of 44  ...he took medication for his peeing ....never killed him .....he was a GP .

So guys are right ....get it treated ....doesn't have to be death sentence

Yes, as long as you understand that you won't know what you are dealing with by tomorrow - all you will know is whether your PSA is raised and whether you are to be referred to urologist for further assessment. As the GP has felt a hard area, I imagine you will be referred regardless of your PSA score but there is a long way to go ... probably including an MRI scan, biopsy, possible bone scan. Once all the results have been received, the urologist will assess all the information with colleagues from other disciplines and make a diagnosis. Strap in as it may be some weeks before you know exactly what is going on.
