Itchy Rash from Zoladex

Hello,

Just joined PCUK after seeing a conversation from 3 years ago on this subject.

I've been on Zoladex Hormone Implant treatment since February 2020 with good PSA results and no side effects.

But I now have a serious rash all over which was firstly diagnosed as Pityriasis Rosea and now Psoriasis and the conversation suggested there maybe a link to cancer treatment.

If connected, it would be a delayed reaction.

Has anyone experienced this?

Grateful for any help.

This is not something I've heard of. A quick search on Google reveals there had been some concerns, but research shows no link. One study of Asian men on ADT (hormone therapy) showed a reduction in auto-immune diseases while on ADT.

Might be worth getting your blood glucose level checked - ADT usually increases blood glucose levels, and this can increase the chance of bacterial and fungal infections, as well as pushing you further towards diabetes.

Thanks Andy,

I agree It does seem quite a stretch to connect Zoladex to the rash, and I've cut down on sugary stuff.

The mystery continues. I'll be getting an appointment with a Dermatologist shortly to see if that will throw any light on things.

Thanks again
