Nurse phoning Monday,why?

Hi

I had my MRI feedback with the Nurse the other day and they wanted to move for a bone scan and biopsy.  She said that the prostate was significant on the left-hand side and protruding.  I've just had a call from the hospital saying that the Nurse want's an urgent conversation with me at 9-00 am on Monday morning.  I'm assuming they have some terrible news to tell me and very anxious and confused.  I just wondered if anyone has had a similar experience and if anyone out there can offer advice?

If it's awful news, is it practice to relay this over the phone?

Thank you for your support?

In my knowledge any news that needs to be told is normally face to face I had no bad news delivered over the phone  👍

Could just be they had a cancellation and want to see if you are comfortable with the date.

No point in speculating because it could be something quite simple as has been suggested.

My husband received his biopsy results and diagnosis over the phone. His post op follow up with pathology results was over the phone as was his follow up following RT.

Best wishes.

It wasn't the done thing at all in the past but since the pandemic, it seems more common for people to be told they have cancer over the phone.

Can you clarify - have you had the bone scan and biopsy now?

Geoff has another conversation that may explain the phone call.

I assume they are looking at taking a biopsy?

Kind regards

Thanks Chris, I saw it. It isn't clear to me whether he has had the prostate biopsy and bone scan yet though - a biopsy of the bladder cyst would be a separate thing?
