I am four weeks past my keyhole robotic surgery i had all prostate removed and feel good about some things but not all. I am 52 ex military and obviously did not expect this now i thought I was reasonably fit if a little overweight. I have been taking Tadalafil for 2 weeks now yesterday I had a erection feeling but as expected no erection is this a good sign of things to hopefully work again ??

Probably a good sign. But way to early to draw any conclusions good or bad. Keep up the tadalafil, that is definitely increasing the odds for a good outcome. The dose you are on now is probably just to help blood flow, an "event" dose would be more and might do the job, but I'm not too sure if a month post op is the time to try this.

If you recover good erectile function within six months it would be a miracle. If nothing is happening between six and twelve months it would be worth raising the issue with the medics, though two years is the time scale they will be thinking of for a reasonable recovery.

As Dave says, the role of tadalafil at this point is simply so that there is enough blood flow that the penis remains in good health. Before long (follow the advice of your doctor or specialist nurse as to when) you will probably want to use a pump for artificial erections, again to keep the penis tissues healthy. The "feeling" of an erection is at least reassurance that the psychological stimuli are intact.

I haven't experienced diarrhoea as a side effect from tadalafil, but since your operation was pretty recent I wonder if it is still a hangover from that. The bowel (lies just behind the prostate) gets pretty knocked about when the surgeons (or their tame robots) are at work, and will be a bit sensitive for a while.
