Wait to see surgeon

Hi, recent diagnosis T2cN0M0 Gleason 7 (4+3). Have been referred for RALP, however is a 6 week wait just to see the surgeon. Then who knows how long after that to have the surgery.

Is this normal time frame? Seems a long time to me.

Your view/experiences much appreciated

The NHS target is for treatment to start within 31 days of you deciding to have that treatment. There is a target of 2 weeks to see a specialist on the cancer referral pathway. There is no target for how long it will take you to see the urologist once you have been diagnosed and before you have chosen your preferred treatment, especially if you ask to see a different urologist to the one they allocated.

Another new member has posted in the last couple of days that he has been advised the waiting list for his op will be 7 months.
