I was diagnosed in March 2019 with PSA4.4, 38cc gland, Gleason 3+4, stage 2, still localised and opted to go on Active Surveillance.
In the intervening years, there have been developments and there is progression in the right peripheral zone. As things stand, thankfully there is no sign of cancer on the LHS. However, based on the most recent biopsy and investigations, my PSA is 12 with a Gleason 4+3, but still stage 2 and localised
The upshot of this, is that I can no longer remain on AS and I'm due to have HIFU focal treatment in 3 weeks.
My concern is that the various specialists I've spoken to all underplay the side effects and I'd appreciate other opinions from anyone who's had HIFU.
Any crumbs from anyone out there who's willing to share their experience would be gratefully received.
