Catheter Removal - Possible Incontinence Issues ?

I am scheduled to have my catheter removed next week having experienced Acute Urinary Retention following a Transperineal Biopsy 7 days ago. Can I expect everything to immediately go back to normal or should I be prepared for some, hopefully temporary, problem with incontinence ?

Thanks

You should be fine. When the catheter is removed you'll be given water to drink and they won't let you go home until you've successfully passed water (usually) three times. Incontinence is certainly not common after a biopsy.

Best wishes,

Chris
