I was diagnosed with pc , July 2022

Gleason 3+3

PSA 3.3

I was recommended active surveillance, with PSA test every 3 to 4 months.

My blood test on 8 Sept was PSA 5.0.

I had a blood test last week but I see the clinician tomorrow 8 Dec.

NHS quote

"A urinary tract infection is an infection of your bladder, kidneys or the tubes connected to them.

Symptoms of a urinary tract infection include a sudden need to pee and pain or a burning sensation when peeing.

You can usually treat a urinary tract infection with things like painkillers and drinking plenty of fluids. A GP may prescribe antibiotics.

Urinary tract infections are usually caused by bacteria from poo entering the urinary tract."

Are you on any form of treatment at all? The fact that your PSA has fallen from 5 to 2 rather suggests that the increase was due to something like a UTI; with cancer your PSA generally goes only one way - upwards!

Best wishes,

Chris

No I've had no treatment, I was having testosterone for most of my life, but over the last year I've had blood tests a week before the injections, and I think it was the testosterone.

I was advised not to have them.

PSA jumping about can also be due to low level chronic prostatitis for which no treatment is recommended these days
