Hello fellow patients
I am coming towards the end of my treatment for Gleason 7=3+4 with radiotherapy and hormone therapy. For anyone interested in my journey click on my profile.
Looking back, I have been confused by my initial biopsy results? If the 'Right side is benign' and 'all 6 cores from the left were negative for cancer' isn't that a contradiction when 3 cores in total were tested positive for cancer?
This is the summary of my biopsy results which kicked off my cancer treatment:
Your histology is G 3+4= 7 which is grade group 2 on the left side only:
- Right side is benign.
- 2 out of the 7 cores were positive from the systematic (standard biopsies)
- 1 out of the 6 cores from the targeted biospies were positive.
- All 6 cores from left were negative for cancer.
Any clarification of what the above means would be very welcome.
Thank you
