Diagnostic test for a recurrence?

User

Just read this article:

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2023/02/25/single-blood-test-picks-prostate-cancer-100-per-cent-cases/

Anyone know if it is effective at diagnosing a recurrence?

It says it detects malignant cells in the blood (even for "localised disease" which fits in with what my Urologist told me once that "all tumours throw off cells all the time, but usually your immune system Hoover's them up".

Franci, I did manage to bypass the free trial bit to read the article. It did flag up alot of questions. Does it only detect biomarkers in tumors ? How many cells make a tumor ?

Thanks Chris

I'm not really sure, so if you're in a position to do so, consult an expert in the field. I'm sorry.

Celemtine, what concerns do you have about prostate cancer. At 23 you you would be very unfortunate to have prostate cancer, if you are concerned about a relative or friend with prostate cancer we are here to support genuine members.

Thanks Chris
