Awaiting results after 6 weeks

Hi, I'm chasing my results from my biopsy, but the still heard nothing after 6 weeks, even though the hospital has confirmed that they have received the results. I feel the service has been really poor and want to check if this is common practice.

The doctors receptionist, who I've been speaking too, doesn't seem to be interested and keeps saying a letter is due.

I would escalate the matter, if I knew who to contact, as I feel let down.

Poor service like that is getting quite common. One of my friends is on Active Surveillance and his consultant ignores his requests for annual checkups.

The hospital should have a patient advice and liaison service (PALS) that is the place to start your complaint.

Three weeks would have been reasonable, six is not.

Mike, if you are in England you can contact the patient advice & liaison service (PALS). I believe Wales and Scotland have similar agencies under different titles.
