Update on my journey, aged 60, Gleason 9 Cancer Cells 5 + 4, RALP Nov 22, Removal of Prostate, Sieminal Glands Non Nerve Saving and 19 Lymph Nodes removed.
Pelvic Floor Exercises Done 3 times a day since Catheter Out via Squeezy App purchased for £3.99 which is a NHS App.
Full Continence with the very odd leak, no movement in the Penis since Nov 22.
02 Mar 23 saw a Penile Rehabilitation Nurse she went through all treatments, having no nerves saved the tablets ie Viagra type tablets would be of no use to me.
Given a pump and shown how to use it also given a starter pack of 2 Injections called Viridal Duo 20mg dose, told to try a 10mg dose at first to see what happens.
This morning my wife and I decided to "give it a go" to see how it went, wasn't nervous about injecting my penis and didn't even feel it go in, within 10 minutes was a not full erection but a decent response, I decided to use the pump to give more strength ( advise from the nurse) and it worked having worked out how to use the constriction ring.
Without going into too much detail, all went well and I had a "Dry Climax", feelings seemed more intense.
Both my wife and I got a little emotional, think it was more of a relief it worked.
Within one and a half hours my penis was back to normal but I had a slight ache/ throbbing in the penis until it went down.
Weren't quite sure if to write this post, but I hope it gives hope to some people that having a high Gleason number , loss of seminal glands and lymph Nodes doesn't mean its the end of your normal way of life.
The nurse said you can go upto 40mg, it's all trial and error as everyone will react differently.
