Thx for the info Gooose. I have heard that weights might help the testosterone levels, so might have to stop being lazy!! 😭

Hi Kerm,

I was also advised weights/exercise would help testo recovery. Zoladex should be out of my system mid July 2026. Was also told about 12months for it to recover (I'll have been on HT for 2 years).

I've joined a crossfit club , I need someone telling me to exercise! Joining a gym would have just been a drain on my bank account 😂

My OH was on Prostap for 2 years, timing about the same as Gooose, but his testosterone is even lower. It's only gone up by 0.1 since August '25. He also still has all the symptoms (but he also had non-nerve sparing surgery). We were surprised and then read it can take a few years to recover T. My OH took long walks daily throughout treatment and that is a habit that helps him maintain energy.

Hi John, me too. Total waste of money joining a gym as I never go!! Have set up a basic home gym and am asking the missus to be my gym instructor. That way I get to exercise and fulfil a fantasy at the same time!! Well, would do if I had any get up and go!! 😫😫🤣🤣

So, now nearly 4.5 month since last Zoladex injection, and I can report ...... no change!! Still getting all the symptoms like hot flashes, and yet to have any kind of energy boost. Still avoiding exercise, but that will have to change. Watch this space, am hoping things will start to improve soon!! 😋🤣🤣

4.5 months with no change is quite normal David. As you probably know it takes about 12 months for testosterone to return, if it's going to. When it does, it rises quite sharply. You'll probably feel some improvements before that although it seems to be impossible to lose weight or gain muscle before the T comes back.

The slight downside to having testosterone back in the system is that the sport of psa watching rears its head again [sorry, probably the wrong choice of words].

I was on Decapeptyl for three years and my testosterone rose to 26 within three months of stopping the treatment. My PSA also increased and now I’ve found cancer has returned, although to my surprise it hasn’t spread yet;  with nodal disease and a PSA of 252 at presentation it could be worse.

Hi Jules, thx for the info. Am already in the PSA watching team, now on 6 month cycles and keeping fingers firmly crossed. It is clearly a trade off with risks, but want to try to get back to feeling normal whatever the risks. David

Hey Roger, sorry to here that your fears of a return were well founded. That PSA proves it beyond any doubt. I guess it will be ding ding for round two? What are they recommending as treatment next? There are some great new genetic treatments in testing, but I think not yet widely available? Good luck, we are all rooting for you. David

I will know more after I have a biopsy and the results of the MRI scan.

I’m hoping to have HIFU or something like it because the operation is likely to leave me with permanent, life changing complications.
