Morning! I am new here for obvious reasons.

I am 50....went to the doctor a few months back because I was so exhausted all the time I was dozing off in breaks at work...blood tests showed PSA at 11.9....MRI score 3....PSA Density 0.461...biopsy....Gleason score 4+4=8.

Scan and bone scan in two weeks' time.

Not looking forward to the next 3 months so just wanted to say hello to people who have been there.

Hi Trent. Ditto, just about to get my diagnoses tomorrow but already know I am a T3b minimum from letter I was copied in on to my GP!! Been a worrying two weeks wait between biopsy and meeting tomorrow, but tomorrow will have my numbers.

I am planning to take it one step at a time and try to be curious about the process. It's all part of life experience, even if none of us planned to be here!

Best of luck and keep posting. There are some very well informed people on here and I think it helps to understand there are loads of us going through similar journeys!

Cheers, David

Thanks David and Vern I just want to be as informed as possible and it seems this is somewhere to get myself informed. I am the kind of person who needs to know as much of my info as possible then I see what needs to be done.

I hope tomorrow goes OK David.

I could say Welcome to the Club but I’m sure you’d rather not be a member of this particular one. Anyway there’s a huge amount of information on this site with VERY knowledgable members. I’m T3b and about to start RT next Wednesday and I’ve had so much support from everyone on here and the Maggies support Group. It’s the waiting and not knowing that’s the worst, once you got treatment options and a plan in place you’ll start to come to terms with things. And dont forget the Specialist nurses from prostatecanceruk (whose phone number is on the site). They are so understanding and full of knowledge.

good luck,

Derek

I was 52 when diagnosed. It's a shock for sure. The waiting for a treatment plan is stressful but once you have got one in place you tend to feel better. Fingers crossed for your bone scan.

There are a lot of publications you can find here:

One particular one that would be helpful is the Toolkit

Hi Trent

I was just diagnosed last week and had my bone scan this week. Get the results of that in next week’s appointment. Gleason 3+3 T3 N0 locally advanced.

Have learnt so much in the past week from the publications and knowledgeable people here.
Good luck and pass the beer nuts, think we’re gonna be here for some time 😊

All the best

Greg.

Beer nuts well stocked this will be a long-term job I think!!

Yes there is a Red connection Chris and your name sounds very NG as well :-) I grew up close to Nottingham, was a Trent End season ticket holder for years but have ended up in Devon so have to watch our return to glory via the TV!

Hi,

None of us wanted to be here, but we are.

Everyone of us goes through the same motions, but eventually gets use to it.

Now that we are here, it will be pity not to make best of it with such wonderful, knowledgeable, caring  people.  Better to make best of it, read, ask question, and make a best choice.

Soon you get over it, we all do.

All the Best

Quite right with the NG connection, I had a season ticket in the exec stand as it was then known. I thought we might be sharing the same medical staff. Hope all goes well with your recovery.

Thanks Chris
